Couldn't bring myself to write last night, so I'm writing this the next morning, still remember most of what I did though, so no real worry! Today, the flip phone arrived!! I'm absolutely shocked at how fast it came in, I only ordered it 4 days ago, DHL express shipping is no joke I guess. Before I get into my tinkering though, I wanna run through what I did for the day. I started the day as usual, dishes, teeth, clean room, make bed, etc. have begun working out, mostly with friends but its a start (for th 400th time) working out has always been kind of a problem point for me, where I struggle to stick to it even after weeks of doing it consistantly, it truely comes down to determinination and self control I dont think it will ever become a habitual action for me. After working out I got home and played some Dragon ball fighter Z with the Justin and Jacob, that game is so much fucking fun I love it haha. Then it was onto tinkering with the flip phone!!!!
going to try to be pretty in depth here because I'd actually like to make a video on this topic soon, And I want to remember what I did. Firstly, thanks to This guide for getting me started. Firstly, after opening the phone, I had to figure out the button layout. there is a manual online I will link as well when I make my video, but not here. When you first open the phone you'll turn it on by holding the power button (same button as the hang up phone button) this then concludes the self -explainatory buttons. If you're like me, now that you're on the homescreen, you'll have absolutely no idea how to go any futher, the arrow pad highlights things, the shortcut buttons open a pedometer, what am I to do! well, you've gotta click the middle button, the one in between the arrow keys. This will open up the app menu, from here you can access the rest of the phone. After that, you should move directly into the settings to settings icon (a wrench) once you're there, if the phone has loaded into japanese, you should go to the final option in settings, then to languages, and finally to the first option and change it to english. once you have that, return back to settings, go to about phone, go to the build number, and click the center button repeatadly until it says you are now a developer. Once you have done this, go to the newly opened "developer options" and enable USB debugging. once that is done, I started working on getting wifi, APK's and other such things installed. Based on my research, the built in texting app is basically pointless, its non threaded which means its essentially a pager, but theres no app store, so how do we install apps? Well, firstly, I installed vysor and "minimal ADB and fast boot" these are pretty self explainatory but I'll also do a demonstration in the video. After plugging in my phone to my computer, I clicked allow USB debugging and then used the computer mirroring to navigate to the WIFI settings and got wifi enabled. once that was done, I launched the ADB from the desktop and typed "adb devices" then once again clicked allow on my phone, Now, I simply installed any APK's I wanted installed (QKSMS, a calander app, button remapper, and TT9 for quick typing), named the files something easy, and dumped the files into the adb fastloader folder. then, clicking the adb fastboot shortcut I typed "adb install (apkname).apk and BAM! installed. then back to the phone, the homescreen, but this time I clicked the "webbrowser" button to open up the "custom apps" page, hotkeyed my apps, and boom! phone operational. now I'm just waiting for the new SIM card and it will be fully operational.
I also rewatched road to el dorado yesterday with friends, it was good (friends always looking at they map fr...) and then we played trouble, I lost AGAIN. I seem to have bad luck with board games sadly haha no buidling resentment though! I think I really was just tired that day.
